Professional Me…

I graduated with a Registered Nurse degree in 1985. As an RN, I worked in various departments including Medical Surgical,OB& Gyn, Oncology, and Orthopedics for about nine years. I loved working in different areas of nursing because it was challenging and introduced variety into my daily routine. Beyond that helping patients and their families through difficult times was incredibly rewarding.

I finished my Yoga Fit Level I training in September of 2016 and have been teaching at Mind Body Balance for the past 4 months. Having Kim as a mentor has taught me a lot about teaching and I’m looking forward to learning even more.

Philanthropic Me…

I believe that Philanthropy (known as Seva in Hindi) is wonderful way to promote positive changes in your community while fostering your own spiritual growth. The great aspect about Seva is that it can be done in the smallest of ways without any expectations. I am grateful to be part of the team at Mind Body Balance, where we help organizations such as Oaks of Righteousness and The Daughter Project.

My Story…

I practiced Yoga throughout my teenage and young adult years. Life then became busy with my job, marriage and raising my two beautiful daughters which I enjoyed every minute of. Just when I started to get back into Yoga, I was involved in a car accident that left me with cervical neck injury and prevented from practicing. Years later, my daughters began taking classes at Mind Body Balance and encouraged me to join. I was initially hesitant due to chronic pain and trauma from the accident but decided to meet Kim (owner of Mind Body Balance). She was very encouraging and alleviated my fear of practicing yoga again. After about one year at Mind Body Balance, Kim encouraged me to take YogaFit Level I training.

As I continue to grow and develop as a teacher, my intention is to open my heart to love both myself and those around me. Through my experiences, I have come to believe Yoga can be practiced by anyone and hope to inspire others to begin their Journey.
